DD is a massive drama queen about pain

DD is 10.5, very physical, great at gymnastics and climbing trees, but she is dreadful about dealing with pain. A scratch from a branch, an awkward landing or any minor (and I mean minor) bump is reacted to with massive amounts of drama, weeping and wailing. She gets to the point that she makes herself hyper-ventilate and gets completely distraught, I am worried she is going to give herself a panic attack one of these days. I should stress that these are the most minor incidents, she has never properly hurt herself, but she goes so far over the top that it is impossible to know what is actually a real pain any more. We have tried calm reassurance, ignoring her, trying to talk her through it, but nothing works. We have told the tale of the boy who cried Wolf many, many times, but it just isn't making a difference.
What can we do?? My patience is really wearing thin, and then DD says 'but you never take me seriously!', and I do have to bite my lip to stop myself saying 'why do you think that is?'.

No advice I'm afraid because I have one exactly the same! DD is 11 and dances, so plenty of opportunity for minor sprains, strains etc. But the slightest bump or scratch is a major incident and I can never really tell how serious something is. Frequent trips to GP, minor injuries and A+E and I am still none the wiser Confused

I have one just the same but thankfully there's never been many trips to the doctors or A&E. I have warned her several times that if she has medicine for the slightest little thing, it was be less effective when she really needs it. I think that is starting to get through.

DS is the exact opposite. Putting on brave face despite being in very bad pain.
