My son was sick three times last night after complaining of "extreme hunger pains" which he said made him retch. He ate fine yesterday and this happened 5hours after eating his evening meal. It also happened in january, he complained of having hunger pains the vomited twice and ended up pooping the bed at 6am during his sleep two days on the trot but 3days after he vomited.
I don't know whether to call the doctor or see how he goes, he's fine at the moment but it comes from nowhere so I don't think it's a bug as it's the same symptoms and happens at the same time of night 5-6 hours after eating. I've searched the net but it's all about norovirus and food poisoning.
Has anyone else had the Same thing Happen with their child, and what caused it?
Thanks in advance for help and advice.Smile

What are 'hunger pains'? Does he really mean 'feeling so hungry, it's painful' or something else? (e.g. stomach ache or stomach cramps)

Maybe stomach cramps rather than hunger pains and something hasn't agreed with him? Try a food diary to see if you can link it to a particular food.

Or 5hrs without food in daytime is quite a long time for a child, maybe he needs a light supper a few hours after is evening meal if it is true hunger pains?

When I have vomitting bugs sometimes I'm ravenous. I guess the stomach shuts down & stops passing food to intestines so blood sugar drops & it all feels like hunger (I guess it really is hunger).

Then throw up & feel dreadful & no longer hungry for a spell.

So sounds like a normal stomach bug to me.
