Dd is stuck for books at the moment so I am wondering if you have any good recommendations and a brief caption about what they are about?

Also it's great is they can be purchased on a kindle!!

Just looked at DD's Kindle purchases.
Over the past year 12y DD has really enjoyed these books/series/trilogies...

Hunger Games trilogy
Divergent series
Maze Runner books
Fault in our Stars
Twilight series
The Banes Chronicles...though tired of these after book 4 or 5
The Infernal Devices series
Wonder
The Mortal Instruments serie
Noughts & Crosses series
The Born trilogy
The Host
The Book Thief

Hulababy · 14/11/2014 17:41

Those were all read on Kindle. DD prefers to read on her Kindle and rarely reads a printed book, bar those for school.

bolshieoldcow · 14/11/2014 17:43

Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is amazing!! DD1 (12) read the lot, and got me to read them too - superb, well told, funny and a nice diverse cast. Basically the idea is that the ancient Greek gods are still alive and have half-blood children on earth with special powers.

Hulababy · 14/11/2014 17:50

I don't think Percy Jackson is available on Kindle for some reason....it certinly didn't use to be.

Hulababy · 14/11/2014 17:51

Oh - tell a lie, it is now!

Hulababy · 14/11/2014 17:53

DD also recommends FireSpell by Laura Amy Schlitz, but apparently it is a bit scary.

bolshieoldcow · 14/11/2014 17:54

Hulababy you can get the whole of the first series (5 books) for around a tenner on kindle.

Hulababy · 14/11/2014 18:06

Yes, just seen - didn't use to be when DD first got her Kindle. I remember looking for her as she was interested in reading some. Not sure whether she would be interested now ... may need to ask her later on.

A 12 year old is not yet fond of so adult fiction, but too old for the kiddy books. Here is the list of books that she might want to read:

The Hunger Games
Ella Enchanted
Sisterhood
Pie by Sarah Weeks
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret
Princess in Pink
Thirteen Plus One
The Book Thief
Maze Runner

slkk · 27/11/2014 08:50

Goodnight Mr Tom
The secret series (book one is calls the name of this book is secret)
His dark materials trilogy
Laura marlin series
Switchers

dingit · 27/11/2014 08:52

My dd liked the Morganville vampires. Beware though, there's 15 books, so expensive.
