Feeling anxious over DD's friendships

My dd is in the first year of the local comp. She has quite a nice bunch of friends. As with all children this age there are fall outs. My dd hasn't been directly involved in any for a while but I can't shake the feeling that there are always tensions bubbling under the surface.

I hear stories from DD that X and Y are not friends anymore because X didn't wait for Y to walk home... So and so have had a huge fall out because one of them sat with someone else at lunch time....blah, blah....the usual teen drivel.

They are all hormonal, snappy and beginning to get a bit of an attitude (all very normal for this age I know).

How do I keep myself involved in her school life without worrying about all the fall outs?

You have to breathe and let it go.

Take solace in the fact that these riffs are normal, and rarely last very long. Everything will be fine a day later.

Make sure she knows communication lines are there if she wants to bitch about it, you'll support her, and to always tell you if something is upsetting her at school.
