DD comes into kitchen in shorts & t shirt. I say 'you look summery'
DD - I've been having a workout in my room.
Me - oh, why?
DD pats her stomach. (she is v slim).
Me - oh, you don't need to worry about that
.
DD - I knew I shouldn't have told you. I was going to help you with the dinner
DD then stomps upstairs into her room & slams the door.
Sigh. How are we supposed to get this right? I'm trying so hard to encourage her to accept her shape - and she is not fat, just not super skinny - I can never seem to say the right thing. We don't talk about diets, just healthy eating, I don't diet, DH doesn't either.
How do you approach this? I'm increasingly concerned at her concern about her shape.
