Sitting 10-year-old in front passenger seat - views please?

So 10-year-old is over 135cm tall but still well under adult height. How would you feel about sitting her in the passenger seat of a car which has an airbag? Would you avoid, even if this means turning down a lift and doing the drive yourself? Or is worrying about this scenario the equivalent of worrying about being struck by lightning if you step out of the house? Interested to hear the views of others!

airbags are such awful things - we suffer them because Americans wouldn't use seatbelts.

push the front seat back as far as possible and make sure the seatbelt is correctly routed.

the main thing is the nut behind the wheel - is the driver awake, alert, not distracted, not tailgating and is their phone switched off?

I won't let my tall 9 yr old. We have easy switch in one car so I just turn it off if he wants to be in the front (on bumper seat still), other car is more awkward so he knows he has to go in the back. Same applies to grandparent's cars.

5ft is NOT 'mini adult height' Angry

It's perfectly normal adult height! No one tells Kylie she can't drive a car cos she's too short or that she needs a booster seat.

Dd has just started to sit in the front - age 10, 140 cm - but I switch off the airbag on her side.
