Hi, my daughter is nearly 9 but has already started puberty. She's become far more emotional recently and has real strops on a regular basis. She also has special needs and it's really hard to explain all this too her.
I'm wondering if any particular nutrients or herbal teas etc, might help during this phase, to calm her hormones a bit, or just to make her feel a bit happier?

Hi mummyloveslucy difficult times. I am not an expert but my daughter who is now 21 went through premature puberty. I would recommend Jan deFries child essence. Should be available in most health food stores . Jan deFries is a renowned homeopath. I found his child essence worked a treat. You could also try vitamin b complex to help soothe any mood swings. If bot keen on supplements you could look at foods rich in vitamin b :)

Important difference here. Be aware that homeopathy is fraudulent nonsense.
Herbal medicine is real - almost all conventional medicine comes from herbs, and evening primrose oil can help with moods in some people.
camomile tea is also calming, as is mint. In the summer, make the latter with a handful of the stuff from the garden, so much better.

Oil of evening primrose definitely. Not some fad or fraudulent nonsense, recommended to me by hospitals for lumpy breasts.
I agree with Specials about homeopathy. Just spent £150 to get precisely nowhere except £150 less well off.
Also have a look at food, as some foods can help because they have higher concentrations of certain vitamins and/or minerals.
