Alternative sites to moviestarplanet

My nine year old wants to be on moviestarplanet. I don't think it's appropriate for her. It would be great to find something alternative more suitable for her age group to offer her instead. Suggestions welcomed. (Soften the blow).

What is it about Movie star you don't like?
My DS is 9 and usually plays on Moshi monsters. Occasionally he ventures back onto club penguin (but has out grown it I think).
He also plays various games on Kizi or cool maths games is a favourite with the children I work with at school. Hth

Please someone come up with some suggestions!!! I posted on this a while back, with exactly the same problem, and there wasn't anything really that fitted the bill. Moviestarplanet is terrible - even if you overlook the whole premise that to be cool/ successful you have to make yourself pretty and get a boyfriend - the chat rooms are full of inappropriate comments. It doesn't seem to be policed at all, which I think is very bad given that it is advertised on milkshake for kids.
Luckily when I explained to my DD what the problem was, she seemed to understand and accept it. It would be great to have an alternative though.

I hate the Movie Star Planet for all the same reasons as Troubled Jo.
Also my 9 year old told she was hot and did she want to be someones boyfriend. He asked her age and when she said she wasn't allowed to say he asked her to tell him in BB which i think is some sort of text speak. She followed the internet safety drill from school and signed off but was keen to get back on again. Even their poses whilst they are standing are too much for a 9 yr old. Young teenager stuff really.

Will keep an eye out for other stuff and post again if something great turns up.

Hey I'm a kid. Anyways Moshi Monsters is BORING!But I prefer moviestarplanet because there is always something to do! Try Club Penguin! That's pretty fun!

Moviestarplanet is a no-no for my kids, it is full of girls being edged on to buy lots of make up and mini skirts and whatever else that really just isnt suitable. The whole purpose of it is to "Make movies and get famous" but in the mean time your child is exposed to boys asking to go out, have sex and worse. It also says it is for an age-range of 9-17 or around that. This game shouldnt even be allowed to 19 year olds! It encourages far too much makeup and prostitute clothes really. I disallowed my DD 10 to play this after I saw the content of the game. Hope this helped.

I agree with Allystar Moshi Monsters is boring. I recommend Club Penguin

The trouble is if all her friends are playing it then she will want to and nothing will replace it, and unless she is a very influential child she won't be able to start something else as a new trend.
Dsd 1 (11) plays it on her nan's phone when we go there, luckily she can only go on it once a fortnight using her phone ans we supervise her. I'm not entirely sure about exposing her to that ethos anyway, the whole plastic, pretty girl thing. But she doesn't play it often so I guess it's Ok.

My dd (10) lives msp.

The only thing she does on it is make movies. She is more interested in poses and backgrounds than makeup and boyfriends. She has reported a few things that she hasnt liked and msp have sorted it out.

Moshi monsters and club penguin are boring for older preteens.
