I think dd is starting her periods.

She's nearly 12. Bright red blood in her knickers this evening, but small amount - about the size of a 5p piece.

She doesn't seem to be actually bleeding at the minute.

So is she likely to start properly in the next day or 2, or can they sometimes get this and then be months before a proper period?

Ahhh..yup, could be just that then nothing for months, could be full on bleeding for aweek and then again in a fortnight. Be prepared for anything
