It is a boy from school.

They have just left (yr 6) and will be going on to different secondary schools.

He has been texting her and asking if she will go out with him for an hour.

I don't know him or his parents!

You could put a ban on anything more than text flirtation until she's 12.
And then ease in more freedom each yr as she gets older.
ime, they're glad you set the limits so they don't have to figure out by themselves what is reasonable to do together just yet.

We have just had all this. Ten year old DS2 has met an eleven year old girl from the other Middle School.

She is delightful and she has been here for tea and he has been to hers. They have Nerf Gun battles and play Monopoly. It's basically a friend who happens to be a girl. Although she does text to say she loves him.
