Is a child permitted to attend a preschool in a different borough to their own?

Just that really. DS was 3 in December and has been getting the grant at his private nursery.

I'm going part-time soon and we can't stretch financially to keep him at the nursery, and it would be nice for him to keep socialising as he really enjoys it.

Unfortunately every preschool in my borough is full with huge waiting lists. Am I allowed to apply for a place in the next borough, 10 mins drive away?

Thanks!
