ds' preschool has sent a letter out asking for photos of the child's family as they are making a display board with them all, now we are a family of two dses me and OH but we dont have a photo of ALL of us together and OH is posted away at the minute and wont be back for 3 weeks.

i feel so guilty now that i dont have a family photo to send in with ds and i cant just send one with either me or OH on it because ds knows we are all a family and i think he would be upset that both of us werent on it.

what do i do?

i know it is tiny in the grand scale of things but it is annoying me that i cant do it for him.

I'd send 2 photos, one of you and DH and one of all the kids together.
I shouldnt think they expect you to have a pic with all of you on, lots of people dont... someones got to take the photos!

I would send a photo of each person separately - no group photo at all. So one of you, one of DS, one of his dad and one of his brother.

exactly, it is always me taking the pics so all pics are of OH and the boys. i am now frantically searching for two i could stick together.

I would imagine it's quite normal - I'm an amateur photographer and I think I've only got one photo of the 4 of us - and that's a terrible one! I'm sure he won't be the only one with 2 photos.

Don't stress about it though - 2 will be great!

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 24/02/2010 20:33

thank you.

my logical mind knows that other children will have two photos but my panicky, PFB, mother mind is crying out that he will be eternally scarred by having two pictures instead of one!!!

DS had to do a collage at pre-school of people and things that were important to him. He is was sent home with a square of black paper.

I reckon it was just the teacher's way of judging us. Lots of people sent in a beautiful portrait in the centre, neatly labelled.

DS's looked like a carcrash and included pictures of Peppa Pig, the Gruffalo and a large ice cream

Just send in some regular family snaps and all will be well.

jelliebelly · 24/02/2010 20:37

We had to do this too but realised that we had no photos of all of us together. We just chose 4/5 pictures of various combinations and made a collage of them on the PC and printed on A4 paper. When I looked at the board several weeks later most people had done the same thing

redskyatnight · 24/02/2010 20:52

Probably half the children won't send in a photo at all and the pre-school will get round this by asking the children to "draw a picture of their family" for the board. At least if DD's pre-school is anything to go by.

ok, i got one of me and OH together and one of the boys together so hopefully he will be happy with that, now i just have to go and dig out his old wellies because they are going to plant seeds in them.
