my 2 year old needs to socialise!!!!

i have a 7 year old boy and a nearly 2 year old girl. they love each other very much but they can't really play much together. my son is into football and outdoor games and my daughter can't really join in. i would like to find a nice mother and toddler group or a mums meeting group to take her to...
i live in the portsmouth hampshire area..

any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Try your mumsnet local, or Netmums have quite a good listing of things on in different areas, the rest is a bit crap though

Have ou got a family centre near you? I love ours, it's got a big walk in sand pit and lots of other outdoor toys and inside they set it up a bit like a playgroup so home corner, painting, construction area etc. My DD (2.8) loves it and I get to chat to other mums, it tends to be quite relaxed.

i have a family centre near me but it's not very good.
they only allow the children to have 3 boxes of toys out - which they get bored of afetr a few minutes.
