I have so few friends I was really looking to meet some nice Mums and get off on the right foot. We are on hols when they are holding it. Is this a very bad thing to miss in terms of meeting other Mums at the school? I am hoping they can arrange for DD to come in anyway for a session to make up for it. Does anyone have any advice for me?

If its anything like my son's prep school they'll be lots of coffee mornings/nights out etc arranged by the class reps.

Also all that time hanging round the playground to chat to other mums.

I wouldn't worry - it'll be fine

I'm with Tracey - am sure it will be fine! In fact the settling in day is likely to be rather hectic - I don't think I chatted to anye properly on th day, but we have since had lots of coffee mornings, evenings out and even started a book club - I'm sure it will all be fine!

Oh really? That's good, I just had this vision of all mums bonding together and I won't get a look in you know what it's like!

No, I am in Bromley. Very hard to make new friends here beyond the superficial...
