I've been told it's unlikely that my DS will get a place at our chosen nursery as it's heavily oversubscribed - little girl in our building was declined due to being ONE METRE too far away, so it's not looking too good for us. I've been looking at Ofsted reports etc for the other nurseries and preschools closest to us, and I'm nearly in tears. What can I do, other than look for a new flat closer to our chosen nursery?

Look at the other preschools, one particular one is not the be all and end all , nor are Ofsted reports alone ? If he's 3 or older his fees would be subsidised or even free via the LEA Early years scheme. I doubt even moving now would secure a place there is applciations are already done but you could go on the waiting list in case someone cancels.
