My ds is three in the Easter hols next year - does this mean he should be eligible for funding at playschool when new term starts at the end of April? as technically he wouldn't be three at the end of the previous term.

Yes, he'll get it from April - they get the funding from the start of the term after their third birthday.

Sorry but it depends when his birthdya is in the easter holidays, as they have a cut off for the funding. If it is before the cutoff it will be from april otherwise it wont be till September.

I need to find out the cut off myself as dd is 3 on april 6th.

foxy - we are April 8th! I wasn't sure if it was a fixed cut off each year or if it was dependent on the date of the Easter hols..

I just looked at our local council website and found that the nationally recommended cut off date is 31 March, however ours will allow April birthdays to be paid in the summer term might be worth checking yours out?

Round here it is definitely 31st March cut off.

Well if its definately 31st March it wont be till September they are funded then. My dd is already at nursery though so we will just have to carry on paying till then. How bout your ds?

How did you find out your cut off point?

PlonkerTeatowelOnTheirHeads · 02/12/2008 23:27

Our LEA has set cut off dates:

Thank you. Looks like they will be funded from September next year then as I would have thought the dates would be the same nationally.

I just looked up the local county council website under education. There was a section about early education and it was in there. Hope this helps.
