Has anyone been on a child protection course recently?

not usually grim- just matter-of-fact.

Oh ok. It's just the tutor said we can leave the room at certain bits if we want.

Blimey! Well- if it's child protection for working in a school- usually it will cover the basics such as who the person of responsibility is etc... don't usually go into details of CP cases....
Are you the designated person for the school perhaps? There's would be more detailed because they have to do the reporting and recording.

I think they say that about the course because there may be delegates present for whom the information brings previous negative experiences to mind, which may be extremely upsetting.

This was certainly the case with me. Although I didn't find the actual subject matter itself disturbing, it still resurrected long buried feelings.

No I' m not. I thought it would be just the basics too as - you describe. That's why I thought I would ask if anyone had done it. I guess I will find out on Thursday.
