Good preschools/nurseries in Queens Park (NW6) area?

Hello - am relatively new to the area. DS just turned 2 and am starting to think about what to do re pre-schooling him after he turns 3 (in no real rush as he goes to lots of playgroups with his nanny so has lots of toddler interaction going on, but think idea of a non-threatening school type environment before he starts school at 5 may be a good idea). Any local MNetters in the area have any recommendations of good local preschools?

I think a friend's children went to a place called Jelly Tots, in that area. Another was teh Beehive? Or bee something. Both were very happy.

Hi - I am also looking around at the moment for when I return to work early next year. Went to visit Teddies in West End Lane last week and was not impressed with the hygine of the place. Am going to see Happy Child on Salusbury Road next, will let you know what its like.

HarriettheSpy and Leee - thanks for your posts - will look into those (though not the Teddies - am with you Leee, if not they cant keep it hygienic probably not too great in other areas too).

Hi - Went to visit Happy Child (although it's on Victoria Road) and was really pleased with it. Really happy kids and staff very friendly. Have a few more to see so will keep you posted over the next few weeks.

Hi - Have also been to see Active Learning in West Hampsted now and it's all quite new (a year old, I think) and the facilities were really good. Not sure about the love and cuddles side of it - could be a bit baby boot camp. Have you been to see any yet?

Am hoping to go see Happy Child, Beehive and also Jelly Tots in September (when have some time off work so can blitz it). Have also been told good things about the one near Brondesbury Park tube station (Hopscotch) so they're on my list too.

It's worth going to see Chaston as well as I liked this best.

Active Learning is a chain and very chain-like / not homely / push quite hard on academic side of things. Also extremely expensive!

There is a community nursery on Mortimer Road (by Kensal Green tube) which is great. Ds1 has been there for a year and is very happy there.

One of the reasons we like it is because the staff are all committed and have been there for years. There is also a management committee run by the parents so we get to be involved in the running of the nursery. Would highly recommend it.
