What school could and should I send my ds to?

I work about 30 mins away from home and my ds is at the nursery 2 mins from my work - we used to live near my work so I kept him at this nursery.
When it comes to choosing a school can I send him to the one near where I work (the nursery would drop and pick him up) or does he have to go to the nearest school to our home?
I want to send him to a good school but need to know my options first - comments please?

for preschool it doesnt' matter - but for receoption onwards it would be different though.

it will depend on whether the schools were you are are generally over or under subscribed. Children living near the school will get priority (along with children with SEN, siblings etc) over children living 30 minutes away, but if school accepts all those wanting a place and still has vacancies, then you could be considered.

I think if might make the social side of school tricky - playdates etc - but there are ways round everything. A childminder who picks up from that school may give you more flexibility long term.

Where abouts are you?
