Preschool says my son is not ready

Preschool said my son just isnt ready because hes crying going in. He cries for a few minutes and then settles. He has only had 3 days where I left him, the other days I stayed as thats what the staff wanted me to do. Now im thinking we should have tried harder before saying hes not ready. He'll be 3 in october. Anyone else have something similar happen?

My son started pre-school in the September, and he was 3 in the October. Yes, my son cried and I was told to say goodbye and go. Me staying, made him worse, and doesn't actually help to settle.

Your son is used to being with you and for some children it takes them much longer for them to settle.

For the pre-school to be this defeatist at this early stage, is not good. They should be used to children like this.

It took my son 6 months to settle fully. He then looked forward to going.

I would look at moving your son to a different pre-school if they're not being supportive.

Does he have to go as he is only nearly 3. My 4 only went to playschool mornings for the year before they started school as I didn't think they were ready.
