Looking for hands-on advice on Nursery/Pre-schools in Harpenden. Have looked at websites and Ofsted reports, but would like to hear from parents. Currently considering The Grove, Roundwood, St Dominic's and Artisans Kindergarten. Any comments/advice very welcome. Thanks!

Roundwood- great school, great staff, 'interesting' Head.

St Doms- they prefer you to be RC.

I have no idea about Artisans but I used to live in Harpenden and unless things have very much changed you will be allocated a nursery from the local education authority depending on wherabouts you live. I know Roundwood and WoodEnd are very close to each other and overlap. St Doms is an RC school and only accept Catholic children. Is The Grove the one in Southdown?

In terms, of my actual knowledge of these schools I would put Wood End as the best if it is still the same combi of Nursery Nurse and Nurse teacher they are fab! Roundwood is also a v good nursery. Dontreally know about the others. If oyu are thinkng of private which I assume Artisan is have you looked at Riverbanks another fab nursery but not attached to a school.

Hope that helps I may have rambled on somewhat.

I send and have sent my son and daughter to Artisans - it is amazing. Only use qualified teachers and so calm and gentle also great parent events
