Nursery didn't realise LO escaped!

LO is in nursery and just turned 3, I drop off for nursery said goodbye made sure he was definitely in and walked off - Lo even hugged the teacher. As I was typing my friend a message I felt someone grab my leg I looked down and saw my child there. I was so confused because I literally dropped him off so I took him back expecting them to realise he gone! Nope nothing! Didn't even get a single sorry So I went home in shock told my bf who wrote a email to the school.

The email itself was not nasty and we did not blame anyone! These things happen and I was there still so no harm done but we still had to say something as safeguarding was not done correctly.

he went back in today and they isolated him from the other students which I saw and commented on which I had a remark that he had left yesterday on her home which I replied yeah because noone was looking after him.

when I collected him they refused to tell me about his day and wouldn't acknowledge me! They turned their back on me too lol.

I said to my bf that we need to remove my LO asap but I just want to check I am not overreacting. It has really stressed me out and I feel sick with worry now.

He did also say he was really upset and noone would cuddle him 😭

I'd be reporting to Ofsted, that's a huge safety risk. What if he hadn't run to you?! You say no blame, but I'd be piling the blame on and he would not be going back.

I agree with reporting to Ofsted. Not only did they inadequately care for your child and not noticed they’d escaped, they’re now mistreating your child, isolating them, and fracturing the relationship with you. They should be falling over themselves to apologise.

There’s plenty of other nurseries available - I’d move as soon as you can.
