Nursery 15 or 30 hours

My child is a September baby and has been offered a place in school nursery this September on his 3rd birthday. He will be in this nursery for 2 year until reception.

He has been offered 15 hours which 5 mornings a week or 30 hours so basically a full school day.

I think I am set on sending him for 15 hours this year then next September up it to 30 hours for his third year. Everyone else seems to be choosing the 30 hour option and just wondering what others in this situation have done? Am I holding him back doing just the 15 hours?

** I don’t use nursery for childcare purposes , he is either with me or grandparents when not at nursery. And he does enjoy it

If you don't need it for childcare, then 15 hours seems perfect to me.

Not sure why you would want them to be at Nursery for 30 hours a week, when just turning 3, if you don't need childcare.
