Independent co-ed and state schools in North London

We have a 2 yr old boy and live in East Finchley area. We have started thinking about schools and would like to explore both independent and good state schools in North London for him to join at 4+.

Other than Highgate School, we don’t really know any other independent schools or good state schools around - any recommendations would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

Have a look at Manor Lodge in Hertfordshire. For a Boys only I would look at UCS

UCS, Belmont, habs, Aldenham, at old house, hendon prep, grimsdell, north bridge house, heathside....

Do you want prep or through to 18?

Thank you so much, very helpful! We are looking for pre-prep and all the way through, ideally co-ed.

How do people get their kids to schools further away? Are they using school buses provided by the schools or is this offered by third party providers?
