This is really hard to word with it sounding like I'm boasting.....

DS3 he came home from nursery with a sticker/badge saying "I know all the numbers....".

I realised a while ago that he knew them but can't remeber if ds1 and 2 knew them at this age too. He can tell any number, even if I ask him to flip it around he'll know it (eg, 14 is 41 backwards).

His nursery think its really amazing but because he's so quick with it it seems kind of normal IYSWIM.

Is he going to be a mathmatical genius or is his nursery being abit OTT.

BTW I'd love to take full credit for it but he's learnt the number by playing against his big brothers on the on the Wii. The highest score is important when you're 4,6 and 9 yrs old

No idea.does anyone really have the patience to listen to a child count to 100 or even 200?

So are all our DSs learning numbers whilst their sisters talk incessantly develop excellent communication skills?

I think pru's right about younger siblings catching on quicker because they join in with homework etc. We do maths & spelling in the car and even 3yo joins in (she's very good at eye spy too).

Fairymum, nope I deffo haven't got the patience either
I was hanging teh washing out the other day and heard him counting his bounces on the trampoline and he got to 136 before his legs stopped bouncing so I knwo he can do it....

It really has nothing to do with us though, I can't even say its because he listens to teh big ones doing teh homework because the only thing he hears with regard to that is me screaming at them to bloody do it in the first place!

I'd love to think he was a child genius but I do think the nursery is being rather OTT.

My dd can't do it.
In fact she gets mixed up just counting to 15 so 100 is amazing.

Well done Mastertophamhatt.

my 4.9 DS counted up to 100 yesterday just to show me he could

He is at school though - don't know if they practise there!
