Help with 15 Hours Funding

Hiya, first of all it feels a bit strange being on mumsnet as a dad but this site has been a god send over the years so thought this would be the best place to ask this question.

i have a 3 year old daughter who is eligible for 15 hours free childcare. Me and mum are currently going through a separation and my daughter spends 50% time with each of us. With mum from sat/sun to Wednesday evening, and with me from Wednesday evening to sat/sun.

when she is with mum she does 2 days, 10 hours, in a preschool. My question is can I use the remaining 5 hours at another preschool? We live in different counties so don’t know if this affects things?

Remember its 15hrs term time only, so if she's using it all year round there may not be many hours left.

I assume as you say pre-school that your DD goes in term time only, is that right? Just checking as if she goes all year round then the total funded hours would be 11 per week not 15. Also some places charge a supplement for the funded hours- my sons nursery does but less likely a pre school would.
You should be able to set up a account via the tax free childcare government site - you'll need the details of the other setting she goes to and I imagine would need to liaise with your ex about it as well in case she at any point wanted to put DD in for extra hours.
I don't think being in different counties should make any difference as the scheme is the same nationwide..its not run by county councils.

Also make sure you claim the tax free childcare for any additional hours on top of the funded hours.
