Hi all, I hope you are having a good time parenting (not always maybe 🙂).

I need your expert advice with respect to Preschool. My daughter is Oct 2021 born which means she can go to primary school only in Sep 2026.

Currently she is in a preschool in a private nursery, which she was going since she was 1. She is happy there most of the time (these days she started complaining that she doesn’t want to go etc).

From Sep 2025 all her good friends will leave the nursery and start reception and I am not sure how she would take it (Last time she had a met down when her best friend moved from
toddlers to preschool)

I am just confused if we should move her to a school connected preschool as she will
be spending 11 months of extra preschool so that she will have school like environment exposure and different curriculum, fresh breeze of air and different activities. VS should we leave her in the current nursery where she is used to the staff, routine etc?

Any thoughts or suggestions pls?

My son will be the same reception intake as your DC. He’s in a mixed pre-school with 2/3/4 year olds that’s attached to a school, but it’s not necessarily the case that he’ll continue at the school as it’s private. The state schools are all way oversubscribed in my area so my son wouldn’t be able to attend anyway, and a school place at the same school is not guaranteed as per their admissions criteria. Might be worth checking on whether your DC would actually get a place at a school nursery / pre-school.
