Am I over the top in thinking this isn't quite safe?

I've started working at a school nursery, they have a water tray (about a meter in length by half a meter width ways) which obviously is fine, but it's only about 4 foot (if that) away from a kind of light up play table tray which is plugged into a socket. The table itself has wheels and sometimes moves a few inches exposing the wires a little more. We just put it back, but I mentioned to the other staff in the room today would you really put water table that close to wires (2-4 ages in room) I got looked at like I had two heads for making such a ridiculous statement! Am I over the top??

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Definitely unsafe. Surely there must be a health and safety person to check these things. I wouldn't want small children with wet hands or clothing anywhere near anything plugged into a socket.
