Help please! How does the funding for pre-schools that are attached to primary schools work? We would only be entitled to the 15 hours free from when DS is 3 (not the 30 hours). So if he goes to pre-school from September 2025, would we only get a place for a couple of days a week and then need another private provider for the remainder? Or would the school charge us for the rest?
Trying to figure out what to apply for this coming autumn!

The way it works in my area is they would go to the nursery class attached to primary school for 3h a day mon-fri which would be the 15h a week free childcare.
There is then wrap around care available to cover the rest of the day which you pay for on the days you need it.
For us it still worked out a lot cheaper than private nursery.
