Are those wipe away books with the tracing for letters good?

I thought I read somewhere they were great for learning to write letters

What's the best way to teach my daughter to write letters?

How old is she?

Before school age, recognition is more important than writing.

School will teach her the correct way to form letters. Before that, she should be able to recognise her name and know the sounds the letters make (not just the names, ay bee see etc).

Honestly if you are regularly reading to her then you don't need to worry about writing. I haven't touched on any of this with 5 year old DD. She is off to school in September and plenty of time for her to learn.

My dd is going to school in September. At nursery they’ve been learning the letter sounds, and learning to write their names. They got taught to recognise the first letter of their name first, then write it, before moving on to other letters.

Some sand in a tray can help with letter practice as they can shake the tray to erase it.
magnetic letters for the fridge, make 3 letter words so rhyming words cat, hat, bat etc.
focus on the sound as well as the letter, phonics is the foundation for reading
how is her pencil grip?
