Dd2 (2.8) asks so many questions about bodies - what's inside them and how they work - that I can't actually answer them all. Is there a good book out there that is suitable for this age? It needs to be quite in-depth as she wants to know what is in bones, what is in blood, what cells are....

the sam's science books by kate rowan and katherine mcewen are good. I know how we fight germs, I know where My food goes (ds's favourite, it mentions poo), I know why I brush my teeth and I know how my cells make me grow.

Nice pictures and has all the information as well

I shall enquire at the library. They will see me coming and think, omg what does she want NOW? (we have a history of random requests).

I think boys are very prone to fixations. Ds1 went through a phase of finding chickens and toilets immensely amusing. He was about 6 at the time

The Flip Flap Body book - sorry can't remember author as we lent it to DS1's previous school and never got it back. It says 4+ on the cover but we used it from about 3 I think.

My eldest son was like that and still is, I found some of the Usbourne ones very good. For his 4th birthday a got him one of these www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/truhome/trulearning/trulearningscience/138525 He's always loved the detail of the body and watching operations on TV.

This is nice
