Best places to buy school uniform IYO?

DC due to start pre-school in Sept and currently attends nursery where uniform is optional so currently wears own clothes.

Buying uniform is totally new to me 😅

I know it'll get mucky and covered in paint etc regardless, but wondering if it's best to buy cheaper (E.g. George Asda) so it's cheap to replace or spend a bit extra (E.g. M&S) if it's actually worth the extra quality?

I think quality is the better choice if you can afford it. I saw M&S have totally adjustable trousers now too so you can easily drop the hem when they grow taller/ other options for girls.

The clothes will also be more comfortable and look better over a short period of time (let alone a long period) if you choose the quality option.

I don’t know of any care settings that don’t provide coveralls to keep the children from destroying clothes with art supplies so he/she should be able to keep clean - as much as children can!

Cheapest possible is fine. I don't have Asda near me so dd's was usually Sainsbury's - easy wash, not expensive to replace. When she started school M&S stuff lasted better but for preschool it really doesn't matter. Have enough for the week so you don't have to wash midweek and save one t-shirt/polo shirt to wear for photo day.

For preschool I’d go cheap and save M&S (when they have their 20% off) for when they start school proper.

Cheaper. Don't forget to factor in them losing jumpers, not just getting them mucky.
