I'm due to return to the UK in the summer. DD attended Pre School here in Cyprus, she did 5 3 hour sessions. I want DS (who will be due to start pre school in Septmeber) to do the same kind of thing but so far most of the Pre Schools I have found seem to be much longer sessions (5&6 hours) which I don't want him to do. I just want him to do the government funded sessions IYSWIM

Is this normal for the UK? Are the Pre School nurserys more geared up for working mums who want half day or full day sessions?

Ours was mornings only, we're in kent, they all seem similar. Private nurseries can be all day. Hth?

I think the nurseries have to give the option of only using your early years funding vouchers. So you can have 2.5 hour morning or afternoon sessions. But you can 'top it up' to make it up to a 3 hour session. DS does 4 x 3hour sessions.

All the nurserys (there is 1 state and 5 private) in my area offer 2.5 hour gov funded sessions.
