Moving 30hrs free to cover COVID closures

DS nursery has closed for foreseeable future due to COVID. DH and I are both keyworkers so will need to find alternative provision for DS (we have no family anywhere nearby).

We receive 30hr funding but will need to reassign this to the new childcare to cover costs of replacement childcare - if we find any - while nursery is shut. Does anybody have any advice on how we go about doing this?

Maybe start by asking the nursery? I wonder if it's too late for this term? I'm not sure how it works tbh with regards to the funding. I know my son is receiving online learning from his preschool so I assume I can't use the funding elsewhere for now. There must be a notice period.

Speak to your LA and the nursery you are interested in, because it seems to vary depending on where you are.

Hi all, sorry I would probably have come back to update. The nursery closed and weren't even answering calls/emails but the local authority have been amazing, stepping in and making sure we have been able to transfer our funding.
