which will happen to my DD (she had just started her preschool this week in the mornings and wont be starting primary school till 2009)

will her attendances be change over to afternoons??

Every pre-school runs differently - you would have to ask your pre-school manager. The children in the second year of our pre-school are called "rising fours" and start to do a little more structured stuff - learning letters, numbers etc, but as for what sessions your DD will do, well that depends on the pre-school.

It also depends on what YOU want - pre-school isn't compulsory or essential, you know!

Sorry - screaminglips - I didn't mean to upset you. Can't quite see what I said wrong - but heyho.

Some pre-schools only run in mornings. dd's has longer hours than some, since is attached to a school so mirrors school opening.

First Jan - Sept - she did 2 afternoons (v. oversubscribed and was all available)

Sept - Jan - she did 2 mornings and one afternoon

2nd year Jan - September - she did 1 full day and 2 mornings with lunch

2nd year September - Jan - she is there for 2 full days and 1 morning for lunch.

I know some children who are doing 5 mornings, because their pre-school only operates in mornings, and they will start school not having done a full school day (i.e. 8.50am to 3.15pmish)
