Hi all

I have a 5yo DS. The plan was to apply at 7+, but with everything that had happened and wfh, I am considering sending him earlier.

However, I know these schools are oversubscribed and have long waiting lists and don't even really take kids at 5. So How likely do you think it is they would take him?

And if you do have kids at Prep schools, how much do you do outside of school? In terms of extra curricular/ clubs/ sports/ languages etc. In preparation for 7+.

Feeling like I have already failed.
Tia

Most prep schools in london have reception to year 6. So I think moving earlier would be better as you would then flow through and not have to take the 7plus.

Alternatively - get into a non selective prep - far easier entry point and then they do the prep for exams and he moves already within the system.

Hope this helps
