I need you wonderful MN'ers help. DS1 has been struggling a bit with maths at school, so we've bought him some of those "I can Learn" books and been printing off worksheets from various websites so he can practice (he loves doing them - just doesn't 'click' easily). Anyhow, DS2 (who'll be 4 in November) has been getting increasingly frustrated because he "wants to do Maths too".......obviously he hasn't even started nursery yet so he's got along way to go before he's doing any sort of 'proper' maths......but is there ANY website which has printable worksheets/activity sheets that he could at least try and do?? I don't want to discourage him by saying no........

(and yes I know we can do lots of things wihtout the worksheets but he's not content with counting cars, helping make up the bottles and telling me if there's more or less of something.....)

www.activemaths.co.uk may have something - it's subscription but you may be able to print off some for free

For fannyannie. Ds2 can experience plnty of "maths" through play e.g with construction toysby;-
selecting specific colours, build a symetrical "object", design towers of different heights and compare the heights( tower a is 4 blocks talller than tower B which is 6 blocks high, if you put the towers ontop of eachother how tall is the tower now?)
Making "maths2 visual and hands on makes it easier to grasp, its more relevent to a childs world.
Too many works sheets prevents maths from being enjoyable for most young/older children.
