sounds like the Foundation Stage profile , which covers aged 3 to end of Recpetion with scales including Stepping Stones along the way .

LIZS · 10/07/2007 20:41

here The first 3 tasks on the scales(up to 9) are described as Stepping Stones.

oh thanks, so green means she is at the end of the Foundation stage, so up to speed?

god knows

we went to a parents evening the other night and some people were quizzing the teachers on how much maths they would do. FGS they are 4, let them do finger paints

very roughly, a 3 year old will be working at yellow level, a 4 year old at blue, and a 5 year old at green. However, each child is different and may achive yellow in some areas and green in others.
From the curriculum "It is likely that three-year old children in the foundation stage will be best described by the earlier stepping stones shown in the yellow band, while the later stepping stones in the green band will usually reflect the attainment of five year old children."
