feel I should give something small but not sure what. Any suggestions - is it the done thing?

Do you mean at the end of term? I'll get them each a bottle of wine this year as my third (and last) child is leaving for school in September. I usually do this at Christmas, but not the summer.

sorry yes meant to say end of term. We are in scotland so we finish our term at the end of June so only 2 weeks to go.....

We're leaving at the end of term too so we've gone for a bottle of wine each as well, but in previous years have done small boxes of choc or nice biscuts (8 staff).

All the leavers are clubbing together, so we can get each staff member a bouquet and a voucher. Did the same last year and it worked well.

as a former worker, I'd say yes, it is very much appreciated as we work damn hard!If you are short of cash it doesn't matter it truly is the thought that counts! (home made fudge/sweetries, flowers from garden, plant pot with seeds in, small toiletries etc)If there are a lot of workers, maybe club together with some other mums or buy a box choclates/biscuits to share out.

Thanks for your posts. Have decided to get some flowers for the Leader and some wee boxes of chocs for the assistants.

Tin of biscuits for all of them would be nice, or bottle of wine as there'll be no doubt plenty to share about.
