So how do I claim for these free nursery hours?

Ds is currently at nursery for a couple of mornings a week and it is costing a small fortune as we have to pay a term in advance. Ds turns 3 in August and I understand that from September I am entitled to claim 2.5 hours per day free. I have seen lots of posters but nothing explains how I actually obtain this benefit. Can anyone explain what I have to do? [clueless]

The nursery should give you the LEA form to complete at the start of the relevant term which they send off. Depending on their payment system you may get reduced fees from September or they rebate you per term retrospectively , once they have received it.

You will get the funding the term after his 3rd birthday. My DS was 3 in Nov and I got the funding from January. They had the form all ready for us to sign at the start of term and all payments to the nursery were then subsidised.
