I'm a FTM to a 5 month old LG. She was born overseas but we will be moving back home to London (Hammersmith/Fulham area) later this year. Knowing how competitive London prep schools can be, we registered her soon after birth for a number of schools. Of these, two of them (Falkner House and Sinclair House) have nursery options, the rest are for 4+ entry. I'm feeling rather confused now about education before 4+. Some of the schools we are looking at have a 4+ assessment, so I expect that some formal nursery education will be important to prepare her for these? Is that right and do we need to start shortlisting options and registering? Of course at this stage we don't know what kind of school will suit her best and we have registered at a couple of schools which are non-selective (e.g. Fulham Prep) and which have indicated that we are likely to be offered a place due to early registration. I feel like we've shelled out a small fortune on pre-prep registration so am keen to avoid the same for nurseries but don't want to find ourselves with no options. I am expecting, given that we registered within a month of birth, that we will be offered a nursery place at Sinclair, but Falkner House could go either way. Does anyone have any good advice?
