Potentially interesting job in Cambridge - how much should i expect to pay for nursery?

I have spotted a potentially very interesting job in Cambridge. I currently live in Denmark, where both the salaries and the cost of living are higher, but I get a huge subsidy for childcare.

Just wondering how much I could expect to pay for two kids (4 and 2) in full time daycare in Cambridge?

£40-60 a day each? A 4 year old would be in school possibly depending on birthday. when we had two under 4 in FT nursery is was just below £2k a month. But is varied by area and we are not Cambridge. 3 year olds get 15 hours free nursery hours

Finding childcare in Cambrdige can be challenging too.

What sort of schooling are you looking at also for your 4 year old when the time comes too, independent or state as you need to factor in where you would want to live if going for a state school. This in turn can affect what childcare is available. What do you want a nursery or childminder, full time or part time etc?

Seriously? £200 per week Shock per child !

Clearly I have been out the UK too long, is that standard in most locations or is Cambridge particularly expensive?

That would basically take almost the entire salary... (even with 15 free hours a week for the older one).

I think I'll be staying in Scandinavia a bit longer...

Thanks for your help folks, as an aside, I currently pay around £300 per month for eldest and get 50% discount on that for the second for full time daycare (in principle from 7.30 am to 4.45pm) including all food, nappies, trips out etc etc.

Wow.

Childminders outside london are 30-40 day I think ave. nurseries 35-70 a day. A friend in london pays. 8 pounds an hour in london for childminder. £800-1200 a month per child is not unusual. This is why so many people give up work as they end up working for nothing

Cambridge is crazy expensive. London prices. Salaries don't keep up either, which is Shock.
