How do I enroll my 3 year old in preschool?

My child is 3, he will be 4 in January. He is currently in a private nursery but we are moving and there is a primary school across the road that I'd like him to go to. So how do I do it? I looked at their website and couldn't see anything. Do I phone them? Email them? Go in and ask? How does it work? I am stupid and clueless.

Phone them and ask if you can go and have a look.

Just ring them and enquire about availability.
Some preschools only intake at certain times of the year and some have a wairing list.
You wont know till you ask :)
Just a heads up but going to the preschool will have no bearing on getting in to the school.
Its normally down to distance from the school

Yes, ring them - though they may well not have a preschool, not all primaries do.

Thank you! I always feel really anxious about doing these things, I don't want to do/say the wrong thing.

You should also look up primary school admissions for your county on the internet. Find their number and give them a call too, make sure they have you new address and your DSs details. They will send you all the info for the applications process which starts very soon for Sept 2015.

Phone them as the new term has just started for school nursery - ask if they have any spaces. And yes check LA web site or call them to get details of reception application process
