My husband and I are thinking of relocating from Cheshire to St Andrews Fife or Perthshire. We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Can anyone say what the preschools are like it these areas and whther or not there are many child-centred facilities around?

Not sure but just wanted to say that I spent 4 days in Perth recently and it was lovely - very pretty and good shopping, eating out and leisure!

My friend who has 3 DCs aged 4,3 & 2 lives in St Andrews and loves it. Her DS is at pre-school (free) and she said it is like CBeebies Balamory with only 8 children! It's a very child-friendly place, you can leave your children in the car whilst you pop into the shops and lovely sandy beach a short drive from centre. Lots of other facilities for children & active NCT.

Agree with NP, said friend lived in Dundee when first relocated (DH is doc at Ninewells Hosp) and didn't like it. In contrast, the only action the police saw in St Andrews was baby-sitting Prince William when he was there until recently! Perthshire is beautiful.
