Outdoor Nursery?

We're considering sending our DD to an outdoor nursery for a day a week once she's 3.

Has anyone else done this? Have they been happy with the experience? And was it at all unsettling to be at two different nurseries (the other days would be afternoon only)?

Mg11 where is the new one in north London? I would share your concerns about safety though. Maybe it's paranoia but I would want to know their policies.

Also, hopefully not a silly question, what do the kids do when they need to go toilet? Hopefully that's not all part of the outdoor experience :o

Outdoor nursery is the best way of learning and teaching. With these concepts kids able to learns about nature and environment. They come to know about the beautiful nature.

Outdoor nurseries are amazing and I've been waiting for one to open anywhere within driving distance of my home since having DD 3 years ago. I grew up playing outside just wearing the right kind of clothes and the bad weather never did me any harm. If they can manage it in Scandinavia where it's a lot colder than the UK, I'm sure British kiddies can cope! One is opening soon in South West London called Little Forest Folk. They don't have a website yet, just a Facebook page but I'm watching it (obsessively) with interest to see when they start allowing bookings and trials! They have a large site in a nature reserve which has a fence around it so maybe other outdoor nurseries offer similar security? I think the benefits of children enjoying outdoor play far outweigh any disadvantages.... and the kids always seem to LOVE it!
