Is it the norm for nurseries to take time responding to emails/calls...

Just wanted to see if it is the norm for a nursery to take more then 3 days to respond to calls/ emails about queries which are not detailed anywhere else? This isn't the first time it has happened. I generally have to chase this up as I have tried not contacting them for a week and still the same.

There is no secretary who deals with this stuff, it's just the owners. My DC will start at the nursery soon.

I would imagine they prioritise issues arising day to day and perhaps address more general enquiries less frequently.

I would say this is normal. I'm the person who returns all the calls/emails for the nursery where I work. I try really hard to reply within 48 hours, but it just isn't always possible as I work all day in the nursery with the children, and often have meetings before or after nursery hours.

LIZS and Littlefish. Thanks for your replies that is reassuring as I have been really worrying about it.

Please bear in mind that nurseries can easily have up to 40 and more enquiries a week... The admin is huge. I too try to return emails within 48 hours but with working a ten hour day at school then after hours admin/meetings etc it's nigh impossible to always be on top of it.
