Lovely nursery far away, or okay nursery close to home

Hi, I'm moving areas, and am really struggling to find a day nursery for my 3.5 DS - who's at an outstanding nursery right now. This morning I finally found one I really like, but it's quite a drive away (about 20 mins). So most kids will not live in the same area as him, which could affect playdates and also means it's unlikely they'll end up at the same schools.

I have also seen a nursery which is 2 minutes away - but I didn't like it nearly as much. It has the same Ofsted rating, but the facilities didn't look nearly as nice and the baby section was depressing. Though I won't be using that. The preschool bit had a big garden, but the inside area was really messy looking and just not very exciting.

They have the same ofsted rating.

So, do I go with the nice one further way? Or stick to the okay one where his friends are more likely to end up at school with him, and where they'll be close for playdates etc?

Any advice welcome!

IMO the staff make a setting nice not just the building, what were the staff like? if they are pleasant and caring I would chose the close by one for convenience.

Oh thank you Vicki! Actually, the staff at the 'nice' one didn't seem that great. Maybe I'll go back to the okay one and check it out again. Thank you!
