Glasgow sarts next week.

Dh is looking forward to ds going back, as ds has been getting really cheeky! Talking to other parents of 5/6 year olds, they're all the same: they're needing the structure of school.

LieselVonTrapp · 15/08/2006 10:02

Yeah and I have a problem with this. I was talking to a fellow MNer yesterday - our DDs are starting school on Monday and Im not sure how I feel about that - I think its more a completely selfish thing on my part cause I want her to be a baby again. Does anybody else feel like this?

saadia · 15/08/2006 10:05

Liesel I'm like you. Ds1 starts Reception in September and I'm quite sad about it. I really enjoy the hols - not having to wake up early and stick to rigid timings.

scotlou · 15/08/2006 10:13

My ds went back today too - but I feel it's too soon. It's still summer. Mind you - i work full time so my mum and kids club bear the brunt of the care over the holidays! I'd maybe feel differently if I was a SAHM.

prettybird · 15/08/2006 10:16

Ds started last year. I sort of know hwat you mean as I was a bit sniffy as he went into school for the first time. I took a day off work and dh and I walked him to school together.

But maybe it was slightly easier as he'd been in full time "care" (childminder initially and then a year of combining childminder with nursery) since he was 4 months old, when I went back to work full time.

But even though he is going in to P2 next week, he is still my lovable wee boy.

Next week for us too, DS1 going into P3 and DS2 into his preschool nursery year. They are needing to go back but I am not really looking forward to it, I hate the routine.
