Ideas for a speaking and listening activity please

I've got an interview for a nursery teacher job in a school on Tuesday. As part of the interview I need to plan and lead a speaking and listening activity for about 8 children.
So far I'm thinking of playing 'what's in the box?' I'll have objects in the box which can be described for the children to guess. If they seem able they can have a go at describing the objects themselves.
Any thoughts, ideas etc gratefully received!

Puppets are a good way to get talk going. The puppets can ask questions. Children can speak through puppets with less inhibitions.
