Hi, can anyone offer me any information or insight into this role please as I have just volunteered to take this on and I am trying to gen up on what is required of me before our next committee meeting. As far as I am aware there has not been a H&S officer on the committee for quite some time so any advice would be very much appreciated.

My health & safety officer takes charge of writing the term risk assessments and updating them with me in a term basis Wink . She also does the insurance forms, yearly risk assessment and inventory. She has also arranged for the PAT? testing and arranged training for fire safety and manual handling. Once all the paperwork is in place it doesn't take too much time. If you want to PM me any questions I can look better from my computer and not the phone.

Hope this helps in some way Smile

Thank you, I may just take you upon that PM offer :)

I am meeting with the chair later this week to try and get the ball rolling. I have not been on the committee long so it is all a bit over my head at the moment.

You should be able to get some training from your LA early years dept.
